Challenge all industry conventions and norms

Inspired by line arrays used in concert halls, the AIM Series 2 family's high-frequency array offers up to four tweeters oriented along a rotating arc. They are powered in phase to constructively interfere with each other, sending high-frequency sound waves farther into the listening area than traditional speakers, and also with a more carefully defined sound output pattern.

Sound placement enhances the experience

A typical tweeter "point source" in an architectural loudspeaker radiates a very wide sound field. This actually creates multiple reflections from the periphery of the room, presenting the listener with multiple delayed and out-of-phase versions of the original sound that reduce the clarity of that sound. The ARC Tweeter Array significantly improves speech intelligibility by reducing the sound output pattern in a way that allows integrators to direct the sound field precisely toward the listening area. By grouping the transducers closely together along a single arc, the AIM Series 2 minimizes disruption of the off-axis horizontal frequency response. Meanwhile, the high-frequency response sound field along the vertical axis of the transducers will decrease due to the close proximities of adjacent transducers, which increases the vertical directivity.

The ARC Tweeter Array also allows for a lower crossover point to increase the sound pressure level in critical dialogue and vocal frequencies so that, acoustically, listeners enjoy a sweeter sweet spot.

A bolder sound

Complementing the ARC Tweeter Array is updated WavePlane™ technology that acts as an acoustic lens, focusing high-frequency audio energy into the listening environment for clearer, wider and richer sound. Regular speakers only sound best when you are directly beneath them, but the WavePlane ensures optimal high-frequency dispersion across the entire listening area.

Taking sound to new levels

The enhanced targeting capability of AIM Series 2 introduces new options for sound design, from home theater to whole-home audio. More than ever, sound can be directed to a specific section of a room, facing a seating area or wherever audio impact is desired.

Optimal sound dispersion

As a final touch, AIM Series 2 Vortex Eliminators disperse sound as it reaches the outer edge of the speaker baffle. Acoustically, this brings the speaker closer to the ceiling surface, improving overall sound dispersion and eliminating any tunneling effects found in inferior ceiling speakers.

Longer lasting and more stable installations

While the front of the speaker gets most of the deserved attention, the back of this speaker also offers innovative technologies. The new AIM Series 2 design leverages Acoustic Isolation Technology™ to decouple the speaker housing from surrounding materials, providing a more acoustic installation and improving sound transfer to the listening area by eliminating structural resonance created by the wall or ceiling surrounding . Minimized resonance transfer is achieved through the use of low-density, co-molded composites, and differentiates the AIM Series 2 from any loudspeaker in the industry. You'll hear the speaker the way it's meant to sound, not colored by the resonance of the material it's mounted on.
