Onkyo USA has announced that the new TX-NR595 7.2-channel network AV receiver will support Apple AirPlay 2

Additionally, the new unit supports a host of new technologies such as Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer 2 and DTS Virtual:X 3, as well as new features such as dual HDMI outputs for simultaneous connection to your TV and projector, and a built-in Zone 2. DAC that can send all digital audio input sources to a second room.

With the addition of AirPlay 2 support, Apple fans now have the perfect receiver to power their system and allow them to send and sync audio to different devices throughout the home. They can also control audio from multiple AirPlay 2-compatible devices, and the improved buffering for AirPlay 2-compatible speakers helps eliminate dropouts and skips.

By playing a Dolby format, the new Dolby Atmos Height Virtualizer creates a virtual height and surround sound effect from traditional speaker designs without using additional surround or height speakers. Similarly, DTS Virtual:X creates a 3D sound field through any speaker design without surround or loudspeaker connection.

Dolby Surround and DTS Neural: X upmix technologies remap legacy sound tracks for playback through any speaker design, including those with height channels for more spatially realistic sound.

Several additional new features coming to the TX-NR595 include Onkyo's DSP-based vocal enhancer that allows users to increase or decrease vocal frequencies to clarify movie or TV dialogue via the remote control or the VOCAL buttons on the front panel, and a Zone B line output that passes audio signals, including HDMI and digital audio, to a component with an analog RCA audio input, such as a wireless headphone dock. Finally, a new on-screen display shows details such as HDR format, video resolution, frame rate and audio codec - information that was often difficult to access during playback.

The TX-NR595 uses six HDMI inputs, all of which support 4K/60p, 4:4:4, 24-bit video pass-through, and the HDCP 2.2 digital copy protection standard. HDR (High Dynamic Range) video in HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) or Dolby Vision™ is passed to a compatible display. Additionally, BT.2020 color video is supported, while Super Resolution, a 4K upscaling technology tailored to high-definition sources is also available.

Onkyo implements its discrete high-current analog amplification system backed by a high-current, low-noise power transformer and large audio-grade capacitors. That power is underscored by the 4-ohm speaker driving capability.

AccuEQ room acoustic calibration creates a harmonious sound field in the room, detecting the presence, size and distance of the speaker from a measurement point, and setting sound pressure levels. AccuReflex technology optimizes 3D audio playback through Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers by resolving the phase shift that arises from path differences between directional and non-directional sounds.

Wireless audio distribution includes all major platforms such as Bluetooth, DTS Play-Fi technology, FlareConnect and Works with SONOS, and the TX-NR595 is well equipped with a host of online music services such as Amazon Music, Pandora , Spotify, TIDAL. , and Deezer, as well as Internet radio through TuneIn.

The advanced music optimizer restores compressed audio files close to their original integrity for improved playback quality, and a USB power output supports network media streaming devices.
